Washington, District of Columbia

Saturday was an extremely busy day!  We were able to see a number of monuments and cross a whole bunch of places off of our list!  I saw the White House for the first time ever.  It was cool, but not that exciting.  I'd like to go inside at some point.  I'll start from the beginning of our day and post a few pictures through everything we saw.

(One of many fish at the National Aquarium...it was definitely not worth the $9 it costs to get in!)

 (Lionfish)

(Memorial to the 1st Infantry Division)

(Me in front of the White House...we forgot our sunglasses)

 (White House)

(Ohio's state tree)

(Indiana's state tree)

(Me next to Wisconsin's state tree)

(The National Christmas tree...I plan to go back at night to see it lit...not impressed so far)

(The Washington Monument...It's still closed from the earthquake so I wasn't able to go up to the top today, but hopefully soon)

(The Wisconsin pillar at the WWII Memorial)

(Pillars at the WWII Memorial and the Washington Monument in the background)

(Panoramic view of the WWII Memorial)

(Lincoln Memorial)

(Mr. Lincoln)

 (Korean War Memorial)

(Wall at the Korean War Memorial)

(Part of the new Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial)

(At the FDR Memorial, lots of beautiful waterfalls)

 (FDR and his dog, Fala)

 (Eleanore)

 (Jefferson Memorial)

(Inside the Jefferson Memorial)

(The Jefferson Memorial as the sun was going down on our day at the National Mall)

That's everything we saw today, more next time!
